Do you ever look around your home and see a need in the area of home decor?
I do all of the time, but before I go out buy something new, I look at what I have and think about how I can make it work.
That's what I did with this acrylic table lamp I bought for my daughters bedroom and later decided not to use it.
The lamp ended up in my office, but it wasn't a good fit. I needed a lamp in my bedroom and thought this could work if only the lamp shade were another color.
You'll need a paint roller. The smaller the better. I love mini paint rollers and use them for so many projects. The reason I used the mini sponge roller is because they reduce paint brush lines. The roller gives your paint project a smoother finish.
For this project I used high quality paint I already had on hand from my guest bathroom makeover which I will share with you later. I have gone cheap on paint and regretted it.
Higher quality paint with primer will save a ton of time whether a small or large project.
I have never painted fabric before that I can remember, but I thought what's the worst that could happen?
Using my paint roller, I applied on coat of paint and let it dry in front of a fan for 15 minutes. It was really well coated, but I applied one more coat just in case.
I let is fully dry for a few hours and put it on my nightstand table.
I was planning on buying a new lamp, but now I've saved my self some money with this easy project.
