How to Make Your Own Graphic Tee + Giveaway

This DIY Graphic Tee tutorial will show you how to create a customized, professional looking tee for less at home. This tutorial is sponsored post in partnership with Hanes.
I am all in on the graphic tee trend this year. If I could wear a graphic tee every day I would. There are so many tees out there that express me that I just can't get enough of them.

On the flip side, some sellers have gotten way out of control on their prices. I mean $40 for a tee?

Really?!? I think not.

I wanted a some cool comfy tees but $40 a pop is a bit much. For those of you who are 'ballin on a budget' today I'll show you how I made my own professional looking tee for less.

My vibe this spring is all about that comfort. Whether running errands or relaxing at home, I want to be comfortable. Hanes has been my go-to for comfy bras and tees for about a year now, so when I heard about the Hanes® Oh So Light Comfort Wirefree bra I had to pair it with this top.
The Hanes® Oh So Light Comfort Wirefree bra, is so light, it’s almost like I'm wearing nothing at all. The new feather-lite bra, with super soft fabrics, flexible foam cups and ComfortBand gives me the comfort and support I want during the day. It's a great everyday bra and makes my frame look fab in my new tee!

How to a Make Your Own Graphic Tee
To make your own graphic tee you'll need a comfy shirt. I'm using the super soft Hanes Women's Nano-T® T-shirt. It has that great contured, feminine fit I love in a tee.

I'm also using a heat transfer vinyl messages. They are super easy to make using a Cricut Explore One. If you've never used your Cricut to make a cutom vinyl, here's a really easy to follow how to design your customized vinyl using your Cricut. Just watch episode #13. If you don't have a Cricut, you can use these iron on letters

How to Apply Heat Transfer Vinyl

Step 1: Empty the water from the iron and turn the temperature dial to cotton. Fold the tee in half and iron to smooth and create a seam down the middle of the tee. This will help with lining up your vinyl evenly. Now unfold and lay the tee flat.

Step 2: Fold your vinyl in half with the sticky side facing out. You'll use the crease to line it up with the crease on the tee. Lay the vinyl sticky side down on the tee and cover with a towel. Press the hot iron down where you placed the vinyl on the tee. Hold it there for about 15 second. If you have a vinyl larger than your iron, make sure to press the iron down on every part of the vinyl for 15 seconds.

Step 3: Peel away the vinyl paper backing and let the shirt cool for 5 minutes. You can wear the shirt right after it's cooled.

Once you make one of these you'll never buy one again.

To make sure you are extra comfy in your new tee, one lucky reader will win a $50 Hanes Visa Card and their very own Hanes® Oh So Light Bra!

This giveaway is open to US residents at ends at midnight EST on April 31, 2017. Prizes are provided by a third party.

  50. That is such a cute tee! I agree that $40 for a graphic tee is pricy but I will say..as a person who co-owns a t-shirt business, prices (at least ours) are driven by the cost of the tee (there are some nice high quality tees) and the cost of screen printing. But it's always great to be able make your own custom tee!
